Electrical & Electronic Equipment Recycling Information:
The Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation became part of UK law on the 2nd January 2007; it placed a legal requirement on all producers [Importers or brand owners] of EEE [Electrical and Electronic Equipment] to join a Producer Compliance Scheme to discharge their obligations under the legislation.
ICI Imagedata is compliant with all relevant obligations placed on it by the WEEE legislation in the UK.
The Producer Number for ICI in the UK is WEE/FF0043SY
ICI Imagedata has systems in place to provide its business customers with a route to recycling for WEEE arising from ICI products put onto the market after 13th August 2005 (New WEEE) and for products put onto the market before 13th August 2005 (Historic WEEE) where ICI is providing an equivalent replacement product.
To arrange for your ICI Imagedata product to be recycled please contact David Prior, Product Manager for D2T2 Photo, stating the product type, brand and serial number. ICI Imagedata will provide you with a reference number and address where you can send your product to be recycled.
Historic WEEE
Historic WEEE is EEE placed onto the market before the 13th August 2005, thus NOT displaying the 'crossed out wheeled bin symbol'.
Historic WEEE that is not being replaced must be treated, recycled and disposed of in an environmentally sound manner, at the cost of the business end user (the company that has the product when it reaches end of life).
Historic WEEE being replaced by new WEEE must be offered to be taken away for treatment, recycling and environmentally sound disposal, at the cost of the producer of the new replacing EEE, on a one for one basis, providing it is of equivalent type or fulfils the same function as the new EEE, unless alternative commercial arrangements are in place.
New WEEE
New WEEE is EEE placed onto the market after the 13th August 2005, thus DISPLAYING the 'crossed out wheeled bin symbol'.
New WEEE must be treated, recycled and disposed of in an environmentally sound manner, at the cost of the producer of the new WEEE, unless alternative commercial arrangements are in place.
