ID Card PET Card SubstratesPolyester-based cards are more robust and environmentally friendly than PVC. However, until now it has not been possible to print high quality images on PET cards with D2T2 ribbons. ICI Imagedata has combined expertise in the card business with its years of experience in specialist coatings to create a new PET substrate which can be printed with variable images, photos and text, with an image quality not possible with PVC cards. The images printed on the new PET cards offer excellent resistance to light fading, abrasion and temperature and, unlike PVC, PET cards are completely recyclable.
